Canada, eh?
So, I'd never expected I'd sell this, but as I curate down my collection to the smallest I can go, I want diversity. Having both the 210 and 240, I find I like the 240 just a bit more so the 210 is being put up for sale to allow another smith's knife into this spot in my collection

Smith: Ms. Mori, Sharpener: Myojin

If you're not aware, these knives were produced around time Kono was working with sharpeners to determine who would work on the Fujiyama line. Myojin did an excellent job on the grind of these knives, and Ms. Mori was training at Shriaki Hamono before she left to have a family.

201mm heel to tip, 49mm at the heel, 172g. Balance just behind the pinch.

Been touch-up sharpened a number of times, but never thinned. At one point, there was a kasumi put on it via stone dust. Currently sporting a patina I could take off with flitz if requested.

Comes with box and Edro saya.

Price: $525CAD Paypal G&S shipping to Canada/ConUS. Open to offers and discussion. Discounts to those who buy one of my other listings I'm about to put up, as well as Canadians who want to pay Interac/pick-up in the GTA.

DM me if you want any further pics:

I wonder how consistent the bevels are 🤔
It’s an intriguing question: is Myojin more consistent now with years more experience or was he more consistent years ago when he was doing less volume?

And this is sold - surprised at the level of interest.
🎉 As a very interested onlooker, I’m not surprised! IME it’s easier (though not less
expensive) to buy a FM than a MM given the numbers of each that people are willing to release on BST/privately.

The latter. He already had 10 years of experience before going with Konosuke.

This. I've had three MM in my posession - a 210, 240 and 270. The grinds were nearly identical except length. I've had other knives from Myojin and they varied much more.

There have been days I regretted selling that to you. That said, it opened up budget and I've gotten some pretty nice other knives.
It’s never going anywhere! At the time I had to buy a kono, any kono, and was not disappointed. It sure sat a lot longer on BST than this one.

There were so few of these in the wild, the amount of interest reminds me of the unicorn knife discussion a while ago.

I'd prefer one to an FM at this point based on cost and reviews indicating it is every bit as good as a performer. Also love that the smith is a woman. If anyone wants to let one go ;). Hit me up. May have to put up a WTB.

As the person dumb enough to sell this 270 MM to @esoo in the first place, I regret that decision more than any knife I've sold, including the several FMs that have passed through my hands.

The FM 270s I've sold have all been relative heavyweights, which are great but a space in my collection that's well covered.

The 270 MM was the pure ideal of height, balance, and convexity. Just an outstanding and versatile pure cutter. Didn't have an etched/blasted finish, either, so easier to maintain and less of a concern when using or sharpening. A true user's knife.

In your opinion what's the difference between the FMs and MMs? Let me know if I need to take this private so as not to clutter the thread.
For me, the MM is more of an all-around knife. It is a very, very good performer, but the grind starts lower and it is not quite as thin behind the edge as my FM. It feels more solid and I think is a tad softer.
