Just got my first ku finish knife but is it normal for it to stain black when I wipe it with oil? Does it eventually go away? Thanks
I had this issue with the choil of my Munetoshi butcher. I just kept wiping it until it stopped leaving residue (though this did degrade the KU on that spot)The ku is still there just some residue after wiping. It's from a mazaki btw
KU is more similar to brut de forge, they are just iron oxide, perfectly safe as food coloring.It is normal....But I have No idea why anyone would want forge scale touching your food.
