Hey I wanted to add that if anyone is interested the actual blacksmith who makes the Honyaki at Mizuno Tanrenjo his name is Jun Mizuno and he is a 5th generation master. He is also known as an official Japanese Sword smith in Osaka.

That'd be your blacksmith if you order the Honyaki knives.

Here he is at the forge.

Hey @panda, the KS line was a special edition created to be a copy of the Masamoto KS series. They are not a standard series from Mizunotanrenjo, but I asked them about the possibility of getting some anyway.

By the way I have some Masamoto KS white steel Gyuto arriving on Friday. Keep an eye on our Instagram for those to drop.

Ok, so to answer a few of these questions.

@panda unfortunately the KS edition is an exclusive and I cannot offer you that one I am sorry. Its a very cool profile and I wish I could get it.

@panda and @Chuckles Jun Mizuno started his training about 13 years ago and has been working with Honyaki knives for most of that time. Its was his passion and he chose to specialise in it. The sharpener on these knives is Kawakita-san who works at Kawakita Hamono and he sharpens all of the Honyaki knives made by Mizunotanrenjo.
