Is Shinichi not taking orders for honyakis that are longer in length (say 240mm +)? I have seen him doing shorter honyakis recently.

Last time I tried a couple weeks ago he wasn't taking orders for any honyaki at all of any size of any knife. I didn't push too hard, but yeah, I think he's done.

BTW, you could also look for a Toyama honyaki, unless you're ONLY looking for a Wat.

There are a few honyakis on Watanabe’s website under his Special knives page. No 240 gyuto though sadly.

I think Toyama stopped that’s why Watanabe stopped too. Don’t see Maxim selling too many Toyama honyaki recently too.

I already have a Toyama, and was told they were very similar. I subsequently found a great different alternative.
