Manaka Cleaver 216x109mm
Blue #2 with Iron Cladding
Custom Burnt Oak Octo Handle

Lightly used full size cleaver, home use I'd guess maybe around 5 times or so. I got this recently and swapped out the stock gyuto-sized handle for one of my custom burnt oak handles sized specifically for this knife. It's fitted up without the "neck" like a proper cleaver. Decent heft to allow for plenty of power, but not overly so considering the size of the blade. Grind is convex both sides up to the shinogi line, profile is a gentle curve with no dead spots. I smoothed out the draggy stock finish with a smoother kasumi using some finger stones. Also rounded and polished the choil for comfort. I enjoyed this one so much, I placed an order with Kisuke for a custom one in B#1 (albiet for much higher cost).

$465 $435 $415 shipped & fully insured within US (international PM for details)

almost one whole pound of steel..what a beast

@BillHanna
O totally. 2 or 3 gyutos worth of steel mass. It's not quite as beefy as my Okubo, both in terms of weight per area and absolute weight. The grind thickness behind the edge is similar to the recent batches of Mazaki's. Thickness behind the edge midblade is 0.8mm/1.15mm/2.0mm (at 5/10/20mm behind the edge). In comparison, my Mazaki is 0.8mm/1.2mm/1.9mm at the same distances.
