Bought too many knives as usual:confused:, need to let go of some very good knives....

This one has a story of a sort. I bought it used, it was neglected and the handle needed to be fixed. I contacted Mert and asked if he would be willing to fix it. Mert being the great guy he is obliged and told me to send the knife to him. I asked the seller to send the knife to Mert. When the knife arrived it turned out that the handle was in a much worse shape and needed to be fully scraped. It also turned out that the knife was lefty ground, I am very much right handed. Mert said he could fix everything and he did. The knife was beefy enough originally to allow for the correction and the handle was made new. Basically a new mid-weight knife now. The grind feels symmetric to me. Mert did an amazing job and went above and beyond. I am into taller knives now, but this is a great size and the western handle is one of the best westerns I've tried.

Balance is around makers mark, there is a photo showing where it is. The knife comes with saya and zipped padded case. I hate selling it since I really like it and Mert was great, but I use it very little since I got a HVB knife from Mert, and it deserves to be used. Instagram post about this knife

After everything I paid $850 for it, but given the history and wanting to pass it to someone who will maybe use it I'll take the hit.

Length: 239 mm
Height: 49 mm
Weight: 215 g
Handle: Tasmanian Blackwood with bronze bolster
Price: $700 PayPaled and shipped CONUS

Amazing!!! GLWS! If only.

Hell of a deal on killer blade. I love mine!

Definitely looks like it's got meat left. Good looking Mert!

Mert is always the gentleman. His work is always A+ as well. I'm not surprised one bit to hear he went above and beyond on this one.
If I didn't already have one practically identical to this I'd be all over it

I cannot believe this is still here. What a gorgeous knife. Killer handle, wonderful blade... If I hadn't bought a Tansu gyuto recently, I'd be all over this...

Some asked so will just post it here

Thickness of the spine
Over the heel: 3 mm
Around the middle: 2.6 mm
By the tip: thin have a hard time measuring.

In a way im not that surprised its sitting here. Merts knifes are phenemonal and tbey do resell, but sometimes they just dont get the proper respect. Of course, it happens woth otber great knives not just merts. Ive had a beautiful mert honyaki just chillin in the classys for awhile. But i would think someone would bite on this soon, beautiful knife, and im sire a great performer. You get the whole package with Merts work.

Let's try $700, at this point I am not sure it is worth selling since I won't be able to replace it for this price.
