Catch and release. Havent bought any knives in a while and this one really caught my eye. Beautiful wrought iron and blue 1 which is my fave steel. Cut two apples with it. Cuts like an axe in my small sample size. Great food release though haha. There is alot of meat on it, so im sure it can be thinned to be a great performer, but i dont know if i have the time or motivation right now. I have knives and other projects that been sitting for a year or two lol. I still am really tempted to keep and polish it because theres so much potential, so i wouldnt be bummed at all if it doesnt move. Measures 244x53x4 and i can get the weight later tonight. Has a small bit of patina from the apples. Price is what i paid with shipping, $755 via paypal gs shipped in the US, intl ill cover the first $20. Thanks for looking!

Are you able to get thickness measurements behind the edge, at say 5, 10, 20mm behind the edge?

I dont have calipers but i guess i can hold a ruler up the choil? I do know that where the shinogi is located, its thicker than the rest of the knife, and then tapers down toward the edge and spine. Thats why I know there is alot of room to make it a great cutter through thinning. Hope this helps!
 
Heres some crude measurements:
1mm from the edge - less than 1mm
2mm from the edge - 1.5mm
3mm from the edge - 2mm
10mm from the edge - 3mm
15 mm from the edge - 4mm (shinogi line)
20mm from the edge - less than 4 then tapers slightly from there towards the edge to about 4mm at the spine
 
Still available. And fyi, price is firm, been getting some lowball offers. Not even sure if I want to let it go or not.
 
So I just used this on last nights dinner and it axed through some kabocha and other hard things but I found the blue 1 to have held up great and it feels as sharp and bitey as the day I got it. I also just started to thin it on my kasfly and am pleasantly surprised that the rentetsu just melts off. Im gona play with it a bit and see if I can get the grind to where I want it. Its a keeper for now. Thanks kkf!

Just keep bit like it is and rock it like a KT. It’s fun to have a knife like that. I’m sure you got plenty of really great “performers.” Oorr, ugh… just do what you want with your knife 😄.
