The other day Cutlery and More had a sale and the Kramer 6 inch FC61 chef knife was on sale for 137 dollars. Cheaper than I had ever seen it. I have been holding off for over a year, because I was unsure if I would like FC61 steel. I am a idiot, Its a fine knife, useful at a price point I can use it without fear. Should have bought this a year ago. Not the first knife I delayed or failed to purchase over steel quality perception. Sigh....

I find the profile on the 6" and 8" ZKramer knives to be a bit weird. Prefer the 10".

As for the FC61 steel, IIRC, it is supposedly AEB-L so decent. I did have a FC61 10" and found it "soul-less" compared to the 52100 version.

I do not disagree. My 10 carbon Zkramer is my favorite knife. But this 6 inch seems handy and I tend to heel knives when I cut so the profile is nice for me.
