Forgive me if this is the wrong place to post this in. And I know that they aren't knives but...
I have some resin and ebony on hand and wanted to take a stab at making my own Moribashi for me and some other chefs.

I am incapable of forging the steel part of the Moribashi, and I was hoping to find a smith who I could commission 2-3 pairs of stainless Moribashi blanks from.

Would love to hear any tips and suggestions too. Thanks.

Give @MSicardCutlery a yodel. He strikes me as willing to try worthy stuff.

I'll reach out to him and see if it's something up his alley. I bet he would impress.
Funny enough, he just finished up a knife for me the other day; that I should be getting by the end of the week. I am really looking forward to getting that blade in my hands.

Do post first impressions.

Firstly, I'm genuinely flattered that I was thought of.

Sadly, I don't think I could make them. I don't have a lathe, and trying to freehand pairs of anything on the grinder is challenge, much less round things. Even if I did, I doubt I keep the price to a reasonable level. Personally, I would try re-handling commercially available ones.

(blushes)
Perhaps you know a guy?

Sadly I don't. This is a fairly unique request, and a first for me.

No worries, I thought my inquiry might be a little out of the blue and it does seem to be something rarely requested. What can I say I like to push the envelope?
I will probably just save the materials I have for some rehandles and see if I can get a few inexpensive commercial moribashi to test on.
Thank you everyone for the suggestions and consideration.
