Hello All,

Here's a wootz petty for your consideration. I'm still working out the process for getting a nice wootz pattern, and this was a different composition than other blades, so the pattern ended up somewhat dendritic as the composition change altered the working parameters without my realizing it. All in all this blade was a bit of a bear to make, and I had numerous difficulties in heat treating and straightening, but finally it's finished. The blade even auto hamoned during the quench, which has some very curious character to it as a result of the banding.

I've uploaded most of the pictures as attachments rather than as full screen images since the forum seems to be having trouble uploading at the moment.

Blade: 172mmx37mm Wootz Steel (65+HRC) 1200 grit hand finish + light etch to reveal the pattern
Neck: 19mmx16mm
Handle: Plain maple, oil finished and waxed
POB: handle heavy
Spine: 2.55mm at the handle, 1.74mm at halfway, .44mm 1cm from the tip
Grind: full convex RH bias
Weight: 91g
Relieved choil and spine
Edge: .16mm@1mm measured at the midpoint,


Asking $280 CAD equivalent (approx $201 U.S) + $30 U.S shipping. As always, if this blade is purchased in conjunction with another I will happily deduct the shipping off of the price of the other blade.
