That’s what we usually say when we’re jealous of another person’s good fortune. It means the knife is awesome.

Hoss

In this case he's also referring to the fact that the knife doesn't have a "moon" over it's fuji like hamon....

We're kicking off a knife pass around with this right?

Do you know who made this then? From the naked eye and polishing, I would say genkai masakuni

I know only 2 makers that makes Mt fuji hamon. Genkai and Nakagawa. The latter's MOuntain baseline is far more plain

and got to mention that i did come across one made by Y. Ikeda

a very good guess and you wld most probably be on the dime

I think if i may take a guess, the blacksmith of this blade is the late Okishiba Masakuni, the father/master of Genkai Masakuni. He also had a version of the Mt Fuji hamon. Rare and beautiful blade your boss has there, also very very pricey.

Well, i do hope that it is made by Okishiba-san. Asking pricing in Europe is between EU 25,000 to 30,000 base on the google search.

I did come across a piece that has a sort of sun or moon not etched but via claying...
