Knife lover, but true stoner at heart!
Here's a very interesting little Nakayama. I don't see many of these even in koppa size, let alone full bench size floating around nowadays. It's a shallower tomae layer, thus a bit more forgiving. Still has a solid, firm base but will self slurry under moderate pressure. Great for knives, pre-finishing/finishing razors if worked, and tools.
Leaves a nice, bright, shiny Kasumi with contrast. The stone cuts very effectively but you have to look closely due to the darker purple/earthy brown tones throughout the stone. Also has some really cool pink namazu. Has the typical kawa on the sides of the stone. Beautiful toned waves of color throughout that are hard to capture in pics but seen vividly with the naked eye. Nice creamy purple mud when slurried.
I love this stone for single bevel knives/ura, kiridashi and for razors before a harder finisher.
Measures: 160×95/80×25
