Hi, is this worth 70 bucks? Thanks! I tried to figure out the company but couldn‘t.. maybe someone knows anything about this knife? Carbon-steel? Is that good or bad.. thanks! :)

Price is what you pay. Value is what you get.

Stamped Kanji. Maybe not a collector item or maybe it is. For me? Sure. Clean it up and make a new handle for it. See how it sharpens up and gift it?

But I would definitely try to get it a tad cheaper.

But that’s one mans opinion

Can't speak as far as collector value.

But if you just want to USE the knife and are looking for turn key utility + sharpness?

On Amazon, this brand new 165mm Tojiro nakiri with a core of white steel cost less than $50 US delivered (on sale, a little more now). It was shaving sharp out of the box, with a couple of minutes work it got scary sharp. Plenty hard, around RHC 62.

I find $70 a bit too much for a project knife. Apart from that I can't see is the state of the tang. That might decide whether you're getting a usable knife out of it.
