New Member with a new Yanagiba Knife

I am new to this Knife Freak forum, my names Maron and I have recently gotten into Japanese knife forging....

I recently bought this beautiful vintage Yanagiba knife on Ebay, and I wanted to ask if anyone knows how old it might be. Also, it would be interesting to know what steel it is made of and some general understanding of the engraved characters stamped on it.

Kanji looks like masamoto to me. Can’t say how old it is.

Welcome. What kinds of Japanese knives do you forge? And what are knife freaks known as in German?

As for the knife in the pictures, it's Masamoto (I'm guessing Tsukiji Masamoto). Probably one of their white-steel lines.
