I ve basic question.
I gott couple of new narural stones. It should be more like razor stones (probably asagi and nakayama) but you never know how it ll perform on knives...
I d like to try em. Here is my situation and would like to know “best practice”.
Have kiridashi (blue / watetsu), now with little used uchi finish.
1) Should I just use it as it is and I ll see the potential of the stone?
2) I should go down to 1k synth, 3k synth and 6k synth (it ll make semi mirror with no contrast) erase all the scraches and then try the stones.
3) or should I go 1k synth and then Natural progression (natsuya, hideriyama - makes really nice contrast) and finally new stones?
I guess it s important the 1k synth and pefectly clear/level the bevel.
Have two 1k synth SS chosera and vitrified diamond 1k - I guess VD should do better job...
Thx
