Hi all, I'm not usually a great one for joining forums, but I've signed up here as it's fascinating reading the informative posts about kitchen knives (and enjoying the good natured banter!).

Although I've always appreciated having the right knife for the right job in the kitchen, I've only recently gone down the rabbit hole of quality kitchen knives with my first purchase of inexpensive, but quality, Japanese knives (a Kamo Aogami Bunka and a Yukihiro Shirogami Santoku being my first two purchases).

The bug has well and truly bitten, so whilst I have to keep the wife happy and not go too mad expanding the collection, I'm hoping to gradually upgrade my older Global knives with individual knives from skilled blacksmiths in the future. Yes, the knife will still be a tool, but I'm already enjoying that sensation of appreciating just how much skill and work went into each knife each time I'm prepping food in the kitchen (and sometimes just opening the knife drawer for a look for no reason other than just enjoying looking at them!).

I'm already reading the adverts on the buy/sell/trade forum and getting inspiration for my first purchase from a fellow enthusiast.
