Selling a Nigara Hamono SG2 240mm Kurouchi Gyuto. I purchased this because I wanted to try the hollow ground bevels, but ultimately I didn't gel with the knife. Used it 5-6 times, never sharpened. Even though it's stainless clad SG2 stainless core, some spots developed on the blade after the first use (see pics). I found that odd and inquired with the retailer - apparently there could be carbon deposits in the kurouchi itself that leads to the spots. Seems to make sense because the spots disappear below the shinogi line.

Specs:
Length - 381 mm
Weight- 178 g
Edge Length- 230 mm
Heel Height - 49 mm
Steel Type - R2/SG2
HRC - 63 - 64
Cladding- Stainless
Bevel- Double
Handle - Rosewood Octagonal

Selling for $270 260 250 USD including shipping within CONUS.

Turns out baking soda, hot water and a wine cork was all that's needed to clean off all those brown spots. See updated pics below.

Dropping price to $230 including shipping within CONUS.

Withdrawing this knife for now - giving it another shot to see if I feel differently about it after 6 months.
