Older mined harder Natsuya sold under Sun Tiger brand. These are different in my experience then the softer or striped versions most commonly seen today.

Great burnishing power than can leave hyper detailed, but not scratch free, finishes. If there is grain in the cladding of a knife, this stone will show it prominently with patience and good pressure management. If you raise a slurry with a work diamond plate it will do a good job of removing synthetic scratches as pre-polishing as well.

Yep! Stripes, great coloring, renge, etc.

I’ve had over a dozen of these now, and in my experience the boring homogenous pale ones are better, but this one is an exception to that rule.
