Older Henckels carving fork.

Just received this ebay purchase last night. It's a very nice, carbon item with some interesting tines; both straight and curved at the same time. I'm considering whether to re-handle this or leave it as is. The wood's pretty solid but there are some gaps present as well.

If it's just for light home use, I'd try to keep the handle as is, except for maybe oiling it. It's very cool!

Day two; after a good overnight soak in mineral oil. Handle was thirsty!

I managed to pop the old scales off and get the pins out with no damage. So I sanded the old scales down and added some walnut sapwood as liners underneath. Came out quite well I think. Freshly oiled.
