Walking longer to build up indurance for a crater hike. Tough advanced hike with ropes. Kaau crater is in back of Palolo Valley. I have seen it from high up ridge line hikes. Always wanted to hike in the valley past waterfalls to crater rim.

Have been hiking into Manoa Valley from my house in Pauoa Valley. Many Older homes in Manoa. Most have been torn down newer homes on the large lots. First walked it last Sunday. Today brought phone.

Love these pictures. There should be a word other than "hike" for when ropes are required.

Ropes are already tied around trees, you have to pull yourself up steep slopes. I love Geology of Hawaii. Oahu has 40 known post erosion eruptions. Far more than any other island. I'll post pictures of that hike when we do it. If I live to post it
