Polishing the left side kiriba

How do you polish the left side kiriba on double bevel knifes? I go ambidextrous and switch hands, can't figure another way of getting a uniform scratch pattern. This is not something I do when sharpening though. I'd just like to know if there's another way of doing that might be preferable

I do it the same way, and it’s the only time I switch hands.
