Looking to sell for
Hitohira Gorobei Ren White #2 Damascus Gyuto 240mm Ho wood handle;
- 223gram
- 51.5-52mm heel height
- 3.55mm at handle
- 3.44mm above heel
- 3.41mm at mid
- 1mm 1cm from tip
- Ho wood handle (no machi gap)
- Touched up on plain leather strop, slicing paper fun fun fun. Similar to Kagekiyo, possibly much cleaner in grind, fit and finish at a lower price. I also heard that Gorobei retired.
Update 6/2/2024: I gave it a quick use on a carrot. How it cut is freakishly good. It has the workhorse feel whilst it being thin at edge. It did not crack on thick carrot, a slight resistance at shinogi, but smooth going. It really does remind of Kagekiyo, tho Kagekiyo is thinner and delicate whilst Gorobei x Ren Damascus does not feel delicate at all. I wish I could keep, but I need funds for custom. I can guarantee you that you won't be disappointed with this one.
