Hey everyone. Just wanted to share a few Work In Progress photos of one that I will have for sale this week (if all goes to plan)

Its some of our Predator pattern damascus. approx 240mm tip to heel.

I was considering doing a modified frame handle with this EPIC blue mammoth ivory for the main part of the handle.

Day 1 Fresh outa the Temper oven

After some grinding. I have the main bevel set.

Yani day 1 Main bevel set..jpg

Day 3 I have the Ura and blade road and beveles all finished to around 1000 Grit

    First "test etch"

    And a quick video. :)

Considering this set of BLUE mammoth for the handles combined with some Blackwood and stainless spacers.

Quick image/diagram I found online that I have used as my main guide to how I set the grinds and ura on my single bevel knives.

Looking pretty good that’s definitely a unique looking Yanagiba. I would like to add some constructive criticism for any future Yanagiba knives you may want to do.

You’re neck looks too wide causing your “Kireha” to be short at the heel. This leads to the grind jumping up onto the neck.

You don’t see the Shionogi line raised onto the face or passed the neck until the knife has seen a few years and needed the shinogi raised to widen the blade road.

Again I think it’s because you’re neck is to wide just like a gyuto size. I can’t be 100 percent sure but that’s what it looks like from the picture and size of handle. Yanagibas have a small neck and a thinner long handle.
