I want to sell this refurbished J.A. Henckels carbon Steel chef’s knife. I picked it up on eBay. It arrived in an acceptable condition

Refurbishing the knife I:

* thinned the blade.
* removed some steel at the heel and tip to restore cutting ability.
* sanded and oiled the handle.

In all sincerity, the knife still has its flaws:
* There is a slight bend to the tip.
* There is a some pitting (as seen in the pictures).
* There are traces of an old bend at the edge towards the middle of the blade.

This is a rough beauty and it could certainly be polished and tidied up. But I didn’t want to remove too much of the charm.

Specs:
Blade length: 205 mm
Total length: 335 mm
Heel height: 40
Taper, thickness at bolster/thickness at the tip: 4,5/0,6
Weight: 170 grams.

Price: 80$ shipped within the EU.
International 65$ plus shipping. (Again,
I’ve never shipped anything outside EU. Any potential buyer would have to guide me a little). The item is shipped from Sweden.

Thank you for your interest!
Carl

Have seen Carl's work — I bought the Friedrich Dick — and was amazed by the quality of it. Nicely reduced fingerguard, without altering the original design. Perfectly restored profile. I wasn't aware of the difference in comfort the level of smoothness of both blade and handle he afforded could make.

This knife is withdrawn. I’ll make an attempt to sell it locally. Thanks a lot for all kind words! Mods can close thread! 🙏🏿
