This topic came up recently, thought I’d show how I prep a stone for use, first repairing some light dings (I’m not fussed). 99.5% of the stone surface is usable, and now it has character. Feels nice and vintage, just how I like it.

Sometimes it’s just nice to see someone do it so it’s less scary.

Prepping all the surfaces isn’t necessary, but the stone feels nice in hand after. Why else bother sharpening?

It’s long, and I’ll post an edited, trimmed down version later. This is just for the dorks. Also, volume down when I use the sandpaper…
