This has been on my to-do list for a while. The weather was nice yesterday and so was my schedule, so I slipped away to a DIY carwash and availed myself of their high pressure water to clean up this new molcajete, then I ground uncooked rice in it for a few cycles, then wet rice paste, and finally after it dried a bit, a chili/garlic/salt paste to leave overnight. Am I finished? I don't think so, I think I may have to do the rice bit some more as I keep loosening more grit... <sigh> But I'll get there.

I did some raw rice grains and that was it. washed it in my kitchen sink.
