NEW Shibata Tinker Tank, unused, never sharpened
Aogami Super w/ Stainless Clad
Custom Burnt Oak Handle

This knife is just pure, refined power. Perfect for slaying carrots, steaks, zombies, etc. This is my second Tinker Tank, but never got around to using it. Best described a hybrid between a cleaver and a ktip gyuto. It has the mass of a chopper, but the tip is super fine. So you could even convince yourself to have it as a dedicated garlic knife. Behind the edge, the grind is like that of a thin/midweight gyuto similar to a Wakui migaki. The spine maintains over 4mm thickness throughout, up until the k-tip section. Grind looks to be 50/50. As with all Shibata knives, the fit and finish is excellent, with spine and choils not only rounded but also polished.

Installed is a custom burnt oak handle. Straight grain texture throughout. Coated with 2 layers of fully cured hardwax oil for durability without sacrificing the natural wood feel.

Will include a "custom" friction fit cardboard saya that I made for it.

$495 shipped & fully insured within US (international PM for details)

These are fun. The burnt handle is quite congruous with the rustic quality of these blades. This is a gorgeous example of a tinker tank 😍

It’s been weeks (that Shi.Han AEB-L post) since I felt so simultaneously sad and happy that I wasn’t checking BST every 5 minutes and totally missed both the moment of the knife being listed and the moment of it being sold, and didn’t have to agonise over and second guess my decision to buy or not to buy. What despondency. What sweet delight.

What a great knife and handle!

Do you sell burnt chestnut handles bt any chance? They are my favorite and difficult to find! @tostadas !
