Continuing the purge with some unique options from Japan.
First a shiro kunimitsu white two gyuto. Sword smith family, exceptional heat treat, fairly thick grind. Bought this one to practice thinning bevels on belts. Still fairly workhorse, but much improved performance now while keeping the spirit of the blade intact. Bevels are very slightly hollow now but would be straight forward to flatten out or convex if that’s your thing.

And something you’ll probably never see again. A nakiri (or maybe not, but nakiri shaped…) from famous tool smith Mosaku. Extremely soft and figured wrought iron cladding over carbon steel. Exceptional heat treatment! Came with more wabi sabi than I care to admit, but mostly resolved now. Evened out bevels (polish could use a touch up), thinned behind the edge, etc. it’s very workhorse at the back but it tapers insanely fast and has a very functional front 2/3. A polishers dream for playing around with but also great for lovers of rare Japanese knives. I paid a lot for this blade, and then got a more classic wa handle made for it (which has sadly split due to my shoddy install work). Selling for a huge loss because I doubt the niche nature of this blade will have broad appeal. Comes with original handle too.
$300 shipped in the U.S.

A lovely example of his high end kanna.
