I just received this curved Bunka knife from the Nakamura Blacksmith from Japan. The Nakamura Blacksmith is featured on this YouTube. This curved bunka has a thin clad blade. The Google translator translated the Japanese term as "folded Paper." The blade is "soft" iron with an Aogami steel core. It has an interesting right-hand edge grind; I do not know what the right-hand bias is, but it is ultra sharp. The knife is well balanced, and the Wa handle is of a comfortable length. Made from chestnut wood, it is blackened and has a rough, naturally textured finish, which makes for a good grip. You also have the choice of a smoother handle made of Sakura (cherry) Wood. It is a real treat when you look closely at this Bunka's blade and see the tool marks and know who put them there and with what forging equipment, thanks to the YouTube video of the Nakamura Blacksmith.

😩😍 @jedy617 with the absolute stunner taz, so excited for this one
@Simply is this the ‘big santoku’ shape he did? If so, let me know how you like it when you get your hands on it! Hoping to get the same one day!

Love the handle too. Just got my first TasBlackwood and it’s pretty impressive wood - curly and chatoyant!
