He really did an amazing job. I like how he is putting his makers mark on the tang instead of the blade for full kasumis. Shown with a 250 Yanick for comparison.

Was waiting for this. My MS probably outcuts everything else I have. Grind doesn't do much as far as stiction goes, but actually cutting performance is top notch
I’m a big fan of Murray’s knives and have several. Of course for the Battle of the Giants it has to be one of his MS versions. One of my earliest purchases of quality knives was Murray’s Perfect Kitchen Knife. It featured as a daily user in my kitchen for years and indeed is a perfect kitchen knife. I also have this “paring” knife from Murray …

It’s probably the sharpest knife I own. But probably not the best choice for wacking russet potatoes.

That's really funny was just cutting some potatoes with mine a day or 2 ago and I'm like man this thing cuts so nice, but now I got like 20 potato slices stuck to my knife 😅

@Brian Weekley When does this Battle of the Giants take place, and will it be on the History Channel lol :)? Live stream ;)?
You can follow it in this KKF thread

The only worthy forum for such an event is KKF! Sorry History Channel!

Yeah, let us/me know how you like it.
Was on the fence of getting one seeing how these are kinda heavy-weight lasers.
I just cut some meat, lots of onions, bell peppers and chillies for gulasch. This is without a doubt the best cutting knife i have.
The weight combined with the thinness behind the edge and the insane sharpness is such a joy 😍 Compared to the Munetoshi i have it's not that reactive but it got already a nice patina.
Can't say anything to the edge retention yet ofc.

I did order from Karasu and they showed me quite a few 210mm gyutos and this 240mm one in a video with all the specs. Really nice customer support 👍
This being a TF, i wouldn't order blind ;)

I found my unicorn, and I shall name it Kaiju.
Tetsujin Hamono So-Kasumi Aogami #2 gyuto 270mm
273 grams, 260mm x 54mm, it's an excellent mid-weight workhorse with a thicker Myojin grind towards the heel. First true kasumi finished knife and I am really digging the minimalist look.

Very fun, my kyuzo is similar sizing/height and sits at 217g. Will be looking for one of these eventually.
