He really did an amazing job. I like how he is putting his makers mark on the tang instead of the blade for full kasumis. Shown with a 250 Yanick for comparison.

Was waiting for this. My MS probably outcuts everything else I have. Grind doesn't do much as far as stiction goes, but actually cutting performance is top notchView attachment 234755View attachment 234756
Murray Carter‘s contribution to the Battle of the Giants.
Man I'm jelly, was this a custom order?Milan convex full kasumi 288 x 60. Blade is very stiff but not a chonker. Tapers from 4mm at the heel down to 0.7mm. 300g. Total delight to use.

I’m a big fan of Murray’s knives and have several. Of course for the Battle of the Giants it has to be one of his MS versions. One of my earliest purchases of quality knives was Murray’s Perfect Kitchen Knife. It featured as a daily user in my kitchen for years and indeed is a perfect kitchen knife. I also have this “paring” knife from Murray …Was waiting for this. My MS probably outcuts everything else I have. That's really funny was just cutting some potatoes with mine a day or 2 ago and I'm like man this thing cuts so nice, but now I got like 20 potato slices stuck to my knifeI’m a big fan of Murray’s knives and have several. It’s probably the sharpest knife I own. But probably not the best choice for wacking russet potatoes.
You can follow it in this KKF thread@Brian Weekley When does this Battle of the Giants take place, and will it be on the History Channel lol ? Live stream ?

Yeah, let us/me know how you like it.Can't wait to put it to test later.
I just cut some meat, lots of onions, bell peppers and chillies for gulasch. This is without a doubt the best cutting knife i have.Yeah, let us/me know how you like it.
Was on the fence of getting one seeing how these are kinda heavy-weight lasers.
Very fun, my kyuzo is similar sizing/height and sits at 217g. Will be looking for one of these eventually.I found my unicorn, and I shall name it Kaiju.
Tetsujin Hamono So-Kasumi Aogami #2 gyuto 270mm
273 grams, 260mm x 54mm, it's an excellent mid-weight workhorse with a thicker Myojin grind towards the heel. First true kasumi finished knife and I am really digging the minimalist look.

Vintage! HahaI finally scored one of these. Now I’ll just have to watch the mailbox to intercept the credit card statement before my wife sees it.

Happy April 1st
Is this the pair from the recent random draw? Really niceA pair of Milans. Both of them are perfect examples of the types of knifes they are.

I think Tanaka b1 is really quite nice, incredible f&f, big clean wide bevels, etc. reminds me of old school fujiyamas a bit. What makes the kyuzos so special? They seem to sell out instantly
