Been trying to got A nice Sitram recently, I saw a lot of Cybernox series on eBay, a quick search sent me down a rabbit hole on Quasicrystalline, but still don’t answer anything… I guess they are Al-Cu-Fe-Cr as described in Wikipedia, but then it went on to state due to difficulty manufacturers switched to chromed steel… it also don’t help since there seems to be multiple version of Cybernox with different handles, anyone has experience with these? Are they actual French space magic or just chromed steel?

Quasicrystalline could be more marketing than a real distinction. Most softer metals, especially after working, could be so described with regard to their atomic arrangement. I doubt that the Cr and Fe have a good effect on heat conduction.

I am reminded of this wonderful exploitation of chemical bafflegab by a cosmetic firm (an industry that has wholly embraced the boundary between flowery descriptions and outright moo plop.) Translated to ordinary English, it is “dilute mild soap.” But it does elicit enough placebo effect that I’m sure they’re moving boxcars full of bottles plus filler that cost 13¢ to manufacture (add another 12¢ for the pretty case boxes) at a retail of $9.- a pop.
