I'm putting up three coticule - belgian blue stones for sale, I'll let the listing run here for a few days and anything that's left I'll find an alternate route for. All three have been lapped flat on both stones, and all the edges have been rounded or chamfered (depending on how the stone arrived). I'll break out the detailed specifics and pictures per stone below. Please feel free to ask questions or ask for more info and I'll answer with what I know.

I'm fine with intl shipping, but domestic delivery is preferred.

Stone 1: ~ 152mm x 32mm x 12mm (6" x 1.25" x 0.5"); 189g; SG 2.91: $65 + shipping $50 to your door Sold!

Stone 2: ~151mm x 36mm x 15mm (6" x 1.4" x 0.6"); 242 g; SG 2.91: $80 + shipping Traded!

Stone 3: ~102mm x 42mm->50mm x 13mm->16mm (4" x 1.65"->2" x 0.5"->0.6"); 214g; SG 3.14: $100 to your door Sold!

Stone 1 Details: Sold!

This is a resin bonded Coti to Rouge Du Salm (a type of BBW that was used on older stones). I don't know the coti layer (I think it's la veinette). I'm pretty sure it's not: la gross blanche, la grosse jaune, la dressante, les lat, la grise or la verte. I lapped the bbw side flat, and the coti side has two spots where there's still some minor dishing near the edge, it won't impact anything in use. It does have a void on one side of the coti that was filled with the resin-y bonding material, I stabilized that whole area with CA glue. The BBW side is pretty standout on the BBW scale both faster and finer than typical. The Coti side is neither noticeably fast nor slow with slurry (suitably fast for use in the kitchen) and you can get it to finish pretty fine as you increase your water portion of the slurry.

Stone 2 details: Traded!
Arrived to me in two halves, looked resin bonded originally, but there's wasn't a lot of it left in between the two halves. I lapped the old bonding agent off the joined faces, and I re-bonded them with CA glue. I lapped the BBW side until the remnants of the adjacent rock layer were gone, and I lapped the coti side flat (it was slightly dished in the middle). Coti and BBW side have had the edges rounded. I'm still relatively sure the BBW is one of the more maroon Rouge du Salm types, but you can see that it's shade is kind of in between the known RdS and the known BBW of the other two stones. I don't know which Coti layer it is. It looks most similar to the labeled Rose Rock cotis that I have seen and I'd guess it to be La grosse Jaune if I was picking from the 12 layers listed in Henk Bos. It's a very nice stone, the BBW side is slower and finer than is typical, the coti side is also slower and finer, with both sides being harder examples; it's probably a really excellent razor hone. I prefer faster stones for my kitchen knives and I'm willing to take the fineness tradeoff in exchange for that speed. That said, you can get a thick slurry going with it and it won't take forever to raise a burr, leaves the core steel real bright and shiny.

Stone 3 Details: Sold!
Looks like it was a longer stone originally and had a portion cut off with a hacksaw at some point before it ended up with me. I lapped this stone flat, but not level (I actually prefer a stone that slightly elevated as I push away from myself), if it's a big to the buyer that it be level when set on a flat surface, we can figure out adding a box or base that can provide that. I cleaned up the sides, including the saw marks on the narrow end, and I chamfered the BBW side to match the other three, the coti side has had the edges rounded. It's bonded with some sort of adhesive, and there's a small section at the narrow end with a gap, I can add CA to it if it's desired, but I don't feel like it's necessary.
BBW side is a very good stone, relatively consistent in that it does everything well and none of it's attributes are standouts. I'm sure it's suffering slightly in comparison because the coti side is a beast. It's almost certainly La Dressante (you can see the separation of the "layers" in the coti with that dark line near the narrow end) and is pretty much everything I'd be looking for in a smaller format version. It's medium-hard but it auto-slurries. It can finish very finely with just water or a light slurry, or you can work up a thick slurry and it gets real damn fast, but it doesn't have much of a fineness tradeoff for that speed. It's wider than most stones this size, which I find pretty helpful for use with kitchen knives/carpentry tools. It would make a great razor hone as well, if that's something that would interest you. I'd want a base of some sort since it's more narrow on the BBW side, and I don't want to have to worry about tipping it (I use this size stone in hand more than on a flat surface, FWIW).

I'm refreshing this one since the little candy bar is still left. I'm happy to package it with anything that's still available in my other listing.

Update: All sold, thank you!
