Marie Kondo-ing half of my collection. As a home cook, I don't cook enough to keep all of these and they end up just sitting in a box when they should be getting justifiably used.

Them Yoake migakis are a good time… I also like the sld for those SS folks. Gotta try the KU Yoake eventually/
I was tempted to keep the yoake migaki 240 because it was/is very similar to a Jiro 240 gyuto I was able to compare it to. Thick spine out of the handle that quickly tapers, same height and length, and very similar edge shape/curve. I'm sure there are also many differences like the Jiro tapered even more in the last third of the knife, but I rationalized that it was a poor man's Jiro.

Since it's pretty much stainless, I brought the SLD to a friend's house to help prep for a bbq, but I've since decided to bring a less flashy stainless as my travel knife that others might use.

KU yoake is a completely different yoake (definitely poorer f&f than the migaki). Nonetheless, I wish I could keep this one because of the hand chiseled kanji and yakusugi cedar handle, but again that's not enough reason for me to kick something else out of my "core" rotation of knives

How much for shipping to New Zealand, Auckland ? Interested in the Hatsukokoro yoake migaki blue#1 240

SOLD adding a recent purchase. my birgersson #219 limited edition found here: Shop – Birgersson Blades

I really enjoyed the performance of this blade (used for two meals, one included cutting some grilled skirt steak that started a nice patina), but 62mm is uncomfortably too tall. I definitely plan to pick up another birgersson in the future.

asking what I paid: $480 shipped CONUS
