Special Wynad black peppercorns

I received 8 oz. of these peppercorns last Friday. They are indeed rather more aromatic and complex than the (admittedly cheap, Walmart sourced) black peppercorns I had recently been making do with.

In particular, I liked these in a German derived pork dish my mom taught me with apple, onion, garlic, fresh sage & thyme. Also in the "Moro cookbook" garlic soup recipe disclosed in the fine & fancy thread last week.

They're quite decent on a grilled steak too...

A bit spendy, but nice. Glad I tried them.

In addition to tea the Halmari tea estate sells black peppercorns. Halmari is IMO fairly reliably the best Assam tea estate in India. I've been tempted to buy the peppercorns but they sell them in kilo units which would leave me gifting pepper to everyone I know. If anyone takes the leap please report. Their tea really is superb.
