Konosuke HD2 240: I've put this one up before, thought about gifting it to a friend/family member, fell in love with it myself, and am now just not sure. Stropped on Gesshin 6k to remove factory bur. Never fully sharpened. Comes with Konosuke saya and pin. I polished the spine and smoothed out the choil. A few super fine minor scratches on sides of the blade from limited home use. 245x49mm. 211g. $230 $220 shipped CONUS. SOLD

Tojiro Atelier VG10 (TA-CH240): Used a handful of times for home meal prep. Surprisingly, this is the best out of the box cutter of this group of knives. Comes w/saya and pin. Never Sharpened. 241x51mm. 260g. $330 $320 $310 $300 $290 shipped CONUS. SOLD

Nice selection here for someone who needs a 240 western (which sounds like im talking about me).

Glws .

Also - I'll take $10 off if you buy 2 knives. Buy all 3 of the westerns I currently have for sale (these 2 plus this Masamoto) and I'll knock $50 off the total. All these are close enough to "new" that they could be given as gifts... early holiday shopping?

*Edited to reflect knives available.

Hey! can you tell me where is the balance point of
Hitohira Imojiya ST SG2?

I have a petty from Tojiro Atelier series and it's indeed very nice. Great seller and price too!

Do you have a spine shot of the tojiro? Looks like a killer taper to the edge in the choil shot, curious to see what they did with longitudinal distal. Thanks!
Photo added to the original post. There isn’t much of a longitudinal distal taper until you get to the grind. The choil shot is indicative of the rest of the blade though - very nice grind.

Thanks! Maybe they figured it wasn't necessary with how thin the knife is behind the edge generally. And there is always a cost component for everything, of course.

I'm just kinda blown away by how nice this knife looks in all respects, coming from Tojiro, which we all tend to associate with more budget knives. It's cool that they're expanding their offerings like this.

Again, GLWS!
