Hello from Asia, I'm palindrome. I like hunting for good quality at a low price, so I have an old Spyderco and a couple CCK vegetable cleavers.

I've reprofiled a couple blades (with and without power tools) and would like to get more into that--maybe I could buy a nice (heat treated) blank and turn it into a knife.

In all seriousness, what does it take to get to post in the sharpening forum? I want to ask if people think an angle grinder with a polycarbide stripping wheel would do a good job at thinning a blade without digging gauges into it or leaving deep scratches.

On the other hand, a flat stone or belt can't accidentally make a blade convex, and an angle grinder will do that if you don't know which part of the blade is proud. (Though a sharpie test with a whetstone can confirm which parts are high.)
