Hi all. Selling a few stones, since I'm not using them anymore at the moment. All prices are without shipping, so it'll be advantageous to buy multiple stones. That said, the stones are all lightly used and the prices should be pretty good. There may be slight discoloring on some of the synths, but nothing that'll cause issues.

First up, the synthetic stones, from left to right in the pic.

1) Gesshin 1k/6k combo. $70. Great stone, especially the 1k side, although the other one's great too. Probably my favorite feeling 1k I've tried. Used a fair bit, but probably only lost a couple mm. Still will last you your whole life unless you're a pro sharpener.

2) JNS 1000, $50. Another really nice 1k stone. Hardly used.

3) Gesshin 400. $40. Lovely, lovely lower grit stone. Great feeback, contrasty polish. This one's hardly used, but I have another that is like 1mm thick now. :) :)

4) King hyper 2k. $40. Hardly used.

5) Shapton Glass 16k. $50, used a bit more than the previous two, but still not much.

Next up are the natural stones, again left to right in the pic.

1) Yaginoshima suita, $90. Pretty nice refined edges, little scratchy when polishing. Little more than 8'' long.

2) Aiiwatani koppa, $90. Really nice feeling stone, refined edges. Used this as my touchup stone for a bit. The base is slightly wobbly, so I'd put a towel under it. About 5.5'' long.

3) Aizu from this thread. Can't improve much on ethompson's description, although it is now flat. $100.

I don't really feel up to polishing anything at the moment, so I haven't done like any prep work on lower grits. But here is what happens when you rub a knife on the suita for a minute. I was using it parallel to the edge, so the diagonal scratches aren't from this session. Look sort of around the lamination line, in the middle of the picture, for a representative shot. That said, this pic probably has no bearing on what you can do with it if you actually try.

Here's also a polish from the Aiiwatani koppa. I did this after the suita, and tried even less hard with this one, hence the super streaky polish. Another minute of rubbing, kinda parallelish to the edge. This one's a little finer than the suita imo, but gives a bit less contrast. I like how it feels in use for edges too. Creamy, although still hard.

Here's the suita wet, for those of you that care about that sort of thing.
