$90 shipped
Purchased new here for $180
https://knifejapan.com/takahashi-kajiya-nakiri-160mm/
Dimensions of mine diferred from the sample on the knife Japan page
170mm edge
38mm height
114 g
Handle is
25 mm high x 23mm wide at end
15mm wide x 19mm high at front
Shinogi thickness is
2.5 at heel
2.5mm at middle
2.1mm at tip
Spine thickness at 2 mm from top of spine is
1.6mm at heel
1.7mm at middle
1.8mm at tip
Tang is spectacularly tiny so it doesn't really fit a normal handle. I made a very rough copper ferrule and pine handle. Handle is snug and just hammered in, no burn in needed, because the tang is so small and the ferrule is there. Knife is centered and angled straight. Knife is 90% straight, slight warps not worth getting out and risking cracks. Polish is @ethompson. Grind and thinning is me. Grind new was absolutely positively oh my God this is 1/2 between finished knife and blank in edge thickness. Grind is flattened now and the shinogi is somewhat consistent. The shinogi is good on the left side and some low spots or ridge rounding on the shinogi on the right side near the heel by me on the waterwheel
Steel is very special in hardness and edge taking white 2. Cuts kind of like kagekiyo. Harder steel than the honyaki gyuto I had. Imagine TF white steel but more buttery and less glassy and honestly maybe harder. Has steel crystalling which maybe isn't good for the life of the knife but is pretty. Some rust or pitting marks from storage
