I used this a couple times and had plans of doing a custom handle. Selling to fund other wants. Knife is in great shape, never touched the stones and still has a good edge. It’s comes with the Kiri box that’s pictured. The edge is 234mm, the heel is 50mm tall and it weighs 263 grams. Steel is R2, see attached details for more info.

I’m asking 1000.00 shipped priority, Now 950.00 shipped priority, now 900.00

Oh man. I’ve been sad everyday since I sold mine. Wish I could. One of few knives I’ve sold that would def replace.

One and only price drop. I don’t mind keeping this one and putting different knife on the block. 950.00 shipped priority

I’m gonna withdraw this for the time being. Trying to determine if it’s a Kazuyuki, if it I’ll keep it.

While this is not rocket science, I was told by a very credible source that Kaz is typically thinner.
In addition, the appearance of the damascus is different.

I have a friend looking at several of each this afternoon. Should help too.

Would have to be over 10 years old. Would be awesome if it was.

After talking to quite a few people that know much more than I do this is not a Kazuyuki. Shigeki and Kazuyuki are not much different but if it was a Kazuyuki I was gonna keep it. Both are keepers.

Back up for sale! 950.00 shipped priority.

Thanks for the patience.

I’ll take some pics, pretty settle and like I said, I’m not expert. I’ll post them tomorrow.

The biggest difference that was pointed out to me is what runner up said. One of those differences is the Damascus lines down by the bevel. The father’s run swirly and the Damascus lines made by the son by the bevel run more parallel. I had 4 people point that out to me. The lines on mine are certainly more parallel than other examples I was shown. The differences are minimal though, so much so that it causes a lot of confusion.

Any correlation with blade thickness? Is the kanji informative?

I was told by one that the earlier blades were bit thinner, nobody else voiced that opinion. I never did dive into the Kanji.

I am not sure if the old ones have a kanji at all. The one i have from Kazuyuki, bought in 2009, has none...the newer ones from Shigeki do have a kanji in most cases
