Sending PayPal invoices to the buyer, or test payments, is the way to go for large sums. Also possibly referrals to other members to confirm the correct email or phone

If the email or phone isn't associated with a PayPal account, then the money gets refunded

I think this guy blew me off.,- said he was "physically unable to get to the post office" and refunded my pp payment. this is after he begged for F&F only, to avoid the 1099.. Is this guy real? Against KKF warning and my better judgment, I did the F&F PP,
i pm'ed and said I would pay for UPS or FEDEX pick up, but now radio silence!!
I would expect more from a high-end community seller.

I don’t care if it is your license, I just like to really know who I am sending 500 dollars to with only a forum name. If that was the iissue, why not just tell me, and we could have found a solution to the anonymous seller question, but the excuse that you are physically unable to ship the item was odd.
if someone wants to know who I am, I give them the info and refer to them to my 30 year bricks and mortar restaurant website, Alforno, where they can see me and my wife. I also breed Italian truffle hunting dogs, am a founder of the AKC breed club, with my name, address and phone number all over the place.
I have bought a 5500 watch from an internet seller, but I was able to confirm that he was a real person with a bit of cooperative due diligence with the seller. Here I just wanted to know who I was sending money to, while waiving all recourse by agreeing to the f&f deal.

Trying to de-escalate a bit here. I've done business with @bzalforno in the past and it went very smoothly, for what it's worth. And I know also that @nakiriknaifuwaifu is a well-respected member of the community who's helped organize some complicated logistic group buys. It seems like a big misunderstanding to me, but I wouldn't blame either of the 2 parties if this deal did not go through.
