A goodie here. This is from the first run of "The James" blue 1 honyaki from KNS. Oversized 240 at closer to 248mm edge.
Classic fancy pants handle from James (amboyna and double blonde horn) and would come in one of his equally fancy boxes.

This has never been sharpened because the edge retention is ridiculous. Often referred to as "the best blue steel in Japan" for a reason, I guess.
Has a nice and stable patina that's basically from one lovely encounter with a ribeye.

$1800 shipped CONUS.

Some pics.

Thanks, all.
This is probably the last high-end knife in the sell-off so grab it while you can!

Togashi/Tosa? Was this sharpened by a Tosa sharpener or is that the guy’s name (like Robert California?)

Also I don’t see a lot of Togashi Blue Steel knives but his White 1 takes an edge better than anything in my collection.

Beautiful stuff

he doesnt make as many and from the dealer's Ive talked to the lead times and prices just keep going up.

but Kenji Togashi is in the absolute top tier of blue steel smiths & his blue steel Honyakis are legend.

Well I must say $1800 is a very aggressive price for a Blue 1 Honyaki. It’s an awesome deal for whoever picks this up.

I would love a Togashi Honyaki- however I’d have to get one that was sharpened by my boy Takada/Yohei.

I’m very curious about the grind on this though, can we get a choil shot?

It's not my taste in handles, but this is a screaming deal on an awesome knife. I have "only" a white 1 Togashi honyaki and, as someone else stated, it takes as ridiculous an edge, easily, as anything I own, and the performance is epic.
