The Makers Mark | Does it belong on the Right or Left Side? And Why?

For single bevels I actually like the stamps to be on the ura, because if I want to flatten the hira and do shinogi related activities then I don't have to mess with the kanji. No opinion on other blades
 
Being a lefty I like it to be on the left side of the knife

When a knife is put down out of the hand, it is nice if the makers mark is visible.

For those knives with asymmetric grinds, it also helps long term to identify which hand the knife is for - Misono does this.
 
Definitely the right side for righties so the mark shows while the knife is in use. And the most important part - so all the logos show when my knives are all lined up on my rack.

I notice right-side is more prevalent for j-knives, but a bit more hit or miss with westerners.
 
I hate putting my knives in different directions to show the makers mark. The ADD in me rages..

..but I guess it's first world problems. 😁
