This is how you do it if the bottom of the stone is very uneven. You wrap the stone in painters tape to create a raised edge. Then you pour some epoxy on the bottom. The epoxy is self levelling and when it's dry you have a perfectly flat bottom that also strengthens the stone. I also put 2 pieces of non-slip tape on it so it stays in place when I sharpen on it.
