John John Florence won his third World Surfing championship. It's been 7 years since his last two wins. Injury even when he was leading have keep him out. Since it has been Brazilian dominance. One heat only surfed two waves scores high so won. Parade on North Shore for his third win. Only other Hawaii surfer to win 3 is Andy Irons.

Carissa Moore is Irish German on father side & Native Hawaiian Philipino on Mother's side. She is 5 time womans world champion & won gold medal in Japan for first time surfing in Olyimpics.
