My old cold steel big knife sharpened with diamonds. Thinned with plates ended with JKI 1K & 6K diamond stones.

Second is 15" Panga knife used shapton pro coarse stones to thin. Since most of my knives are carbon steel easy to sharpen these are different. Have found that cutting micro bevel with coarse stone or plate saves time then refine the micro bevel at same angle with finder grits.

Ah the CS Trail Master. Mine is strapped into a gun case with a Marlin 30/30, a .22 pistol, and ammo that my oldest daughter snatched up years ago and I haven't seen since. 😁

The original Trail Masters were carbon steel and yours like it is. I think they changed a while back.
