Hi. We'll be flying out to Seattle for a wedding next summer, so we are planning a longer vacation around that event. We'll fly into Seattle and have a couple days before the wedding, so would want to do things near there. The following Sunday we will head out and be willing to go further. We will have at least 2 kids, a tween and a teen, and possibly 4 for the second half of the journey.
I love modern art and also really enjoy the art stylings of the Pacific NW indigenous tribes, so would be interested in exploring that, especially in the beginning in and around Seattle/Bainbridge Island.
After, we are interested in whale watching excusions, Olympia Nat. Park, and possibly the Southern part of Vancouver Island.

Do y'all have any tips, advice, or recommendations?

If you're willing to travel a little further and are interested in indigenous art, the Museum of Anthropology at UBC in Vancouver has a really extensive collection of both historical and contemporary First Nations art and artifacts in a cool building and gorgeous setting. Maybe a hard sell as a day trip with kids though.

I second the museum in Vancouver. If you are going to cross over to Vancouver Island plan ahead for the ferry trips. They take time. The Seattle Art Museum has a fair collection of NW Indian art too. Of course, there is always the Pike Place Public Market.
