Hello friends! Here I am going to consolidate 2 of my existing threads with up to date pricing, as well as add a few new ones. I am the original owner of all these knives, all have minimal use, none have been sharpened. Here we go, new ones first:
Troopah: 240 x 55. Asking $475
26c3 monosteel with some hamon action. Handle is mun ebony with an African blackwood top. This is a really cool and unique blade shape, it makes the knife feel a lot smaller than it actually is. Tip work is incredible, extremely comfortable and nimble knife. Used once to make some salsa, never sharpened or stropped.
Fredrick Spare: 230 x 55mm. Asking $425
Spicy white monosteel with bog oak and wrought iron handle. This is what I would consider “classic” Spare. Fit and finish are fantastic and it’s an incredible cutter. Very thin and light. Comes with oak saya with bog oak pin. Used 2-3 times and never sharpened.
Joel Black: 175 x 55mm. Asking $500
My only and very prized nakiri. This is Joel’s take on a classic Shig KU nakiri and I had to have it. I used it once and its amazing, I just don’t find myself drawn to nakiris anymore. I don’t know the core steel, but it’s wrought iron dammy clad with a big booty. What’s not to love?
Older stuff with up to date pricing:
Two Sticks: 240 x 55, 247g. Asking $425
Blue #2 with soft iron cladding. Correct me if I'm wrong, but I believe that this size and iron cladding is somewhat rare from this smith. Truly sad to see this one go but I find myself neglecting 240's recently and it's too nice of a knife to be sitting in my drawer. Used 2 times, has some really cool electric blue patina.
Simon Maillet: 210 x 50, 184g Asking $300
26c3 with pure iron cladding, handle is ebonized English oak. I'd been admiring Simon's work from a distance for a while, I snagged a custom spot and asked him to make me a small all-arounder. It's a beautiful knife, very sturdy and feels great in hand, but I just didn't really bond with it. Still on the hunt for my perfect small knife. Used once.
Sacco Knives: 205 x 55. Asking $300
This is a cool knife by a really talented up and coming maker. It’s 205 x 55 gyuto/santoku-ish knife. I used it a few times, it cuts incredibly well and I’ve found the size and shape to be really useful for almost any smaller task. Great cutter and the overall build quality is just fantastic. 52100 steel with gorgeous ironwood handle and brass pins. Insane tapered tang. Only selling because I’d like something a little tankier in this size and this one is very thin.
I paid $400 straight from Sacco and I’m going to ask $300 shipped in the US.
