`I think that’s a trick of the light, a refection on all those blades. The photographer really just has a face like a giant YKK zip

Or at least that‘s most rational explanation I can come up with at the moment

🤣

Is it actually possible for anyone who's not in military administration to use the word "tactical" without it being either pretentious or mock-pretentious?

"Tactical" being used in a serious tone seems to be a pretty reliable way to spot an idiot.

I quite enjoyed this from Warren Zevon a few weeks before he died of lung cancer:

“I might have made a tactical error not going to a physician for 20 years. It was one of those phobias that didn't really pay off.”

That usage is (arguably?) just fine. I should have been more specific.

He should have listed some of the phobias he thought had a good payoff though. :)

I have some new entries from an instagram account I appear to follow...

TBF this probably isn't supposed to be a kitchen knife. God knows what it is supposed to be though:

This skeletal monstrosity however is a kitchen knife. Apparently it's what the Grim Reaper uses for smaller dicing work and off-board stuff, when the scythe might prove impractical:

And this very specialised knife, designed for gouging out your own eyes after you've had the misfortune of looking at it:

Why on earth would you make a hole for a bottle opener when you can just use the spine for that, or pretty much any piece of cutlery for that matter. 😐 It's like this whole thing was designed by someone who never drank beer and never had a BBQ.

The idea of picking things up with the tip of a knife can actually work:

Remove the serrations and make the blade taller, and you'd have something similar to the knife above, sans the bottle opener and the weird recurve hook thing, which would almost certainly just get in the way when trying to cut something.
