Couldn’t think of any, so looked some up. Here are some choice ones:

“There never was a good knife made of bad steel.” ~ Benjamin Franklin

“If I get 8 hours to cut a tree I’ll spend 7 hours to sharpen my knife.” ~ Abraham Lincoln

I can’t remember who said this, why they said or what it even means but I’ll never forget it

“I don’t sharpen like the hardness of a sukenari”

First person to use Crocodile Dundee loses.

"A falling knife has no handle."

Or from @IsoJ:

"I couldn't sell it with the Ryky label on it, so I sanded it off and sold it for $50 more."
Father forgive me, I have done sin.

"You call that sharp"

"Somebody once told me the world is gonna roll me
I ain't the sharpest tool in the shed
She was looking kind of dumb with her finger and her thumb
In the shape of an "L" on her forehead"

2022 update:

If I get 8 hours to cut a tree, I’ll spend 7 hours to sharpen my knife.

If I get 7 hours to sharpen my knife, I’ll spend 6 hours flattening my stones.

If I get 6 hours to flatten my stones, I’ll spend 5 hours on KKF.

If I get 5 hours on KKF, I’ll spend $400 on this amazing new knife from an amazing maker wth an amazing steel with an amazing grind…

Wait, did you say something about a tree?

*Buys an axe or 5*

If I get 8 hours to cut down a tree I'll just spend an hour to buy a chainsaw, 5 minutes to cut down the tree, and use the rest of the time for something else...
If you're spending 7 hours to sharpen one tool I think it's also time to up your sharpening game and stop roleplaying Burrfection.

Science has no moral dimension. It is like a knife. If you give one to a surgeon and one to a murderer, each one uses it in his own way.
