I have a small ohira suita that I plan to adhere to a wooden dai. The stone is sealed. Any recommendations on what adhesive to use to glue the stone onto the wooden dai? Thanks!

I'm about to mount my first stone as well (dalmore blue) and would love to hear what the pro's use.

I would imagine any 2 part epoxy will do, but perhaps there are reversable solutions? On that front I've been considering trying to use hot glue or melting shellac flakes.

Thanks in advance!

I use 100% pure silicone. Clear.

Silicone adheres very well to both. It doesn't break down in presence of water. It also allows the dai to shrink and swell through time without stressing the stone itself.

A lot easier to remove if I need to.

I’ve been using gorilla glue 2 part epoxy. Works so far. I haven’t seriously stressed any of the glue jobs yet but no issues with regular use.

I tried glue gun as well, I’m guessing it’s the materials/equipment I’m using but it cools off way too fast for me to get a good flat mounting. Never ended up with satisfactory results.

Warm the stone up. It'll help the glue from instantly cooling down.
